When someone says name a war, most people will think of one of the World Wars. But why is that. Probably because from grades 6-10 that’s been a big part of the school curriculum. But do we really need all that war? That’s what this project was about.

This project was a very different one than most other PLP projects, as it didn’t really seem like a project. The project started out with us learning about WWII, and then it went to us learning about WWII, and then we went back and learned some more WWII. If that seems really repetitive, it wasn’t really, but it’s one of the reasons I think that it doesn’t seem like a PLP project. The other reason is because we wrote an essay. For those of you who don’t know, PLP is a program that focuses on project based learning, which means instead of tests, we do elaborate projects. I joined PLP so I didn’t have to right an essay.

One of the important things that I learned how to do throughout this project was how to elaborate on my sentences. I haven’t been doing great at elaborating but it was a necessary skill to learn when writing an essay. If you start writing an essay and you find it’s one sentence long, you’ve done something wrong. That’s why you need elaboration. Another skill that  I learned is how to find good sources because it doesn’t look great if your information comes WWII.net.

Other than it not seeming like a PLP project, I really enjoyed it. I found it interesting to learn about how people go about trying to make the world a better place.
