When you think of the work celebrate, do you think of your birthday? Maybe Christmas? New Years Eve? Well there are many different people around the world, who have very different answers to that same question! In this post, I am going to share with you a celebrations that my family celebrates and I am going to talk about the significance of it!
I celebrate my birthday which is close to Halloween, so my family usually puts them together. We always get together for a dinner and then presents! As I’ve gotten older, the presents have decreased but my happiness is on an rollercoaster, just goin up! I love this time of year because its one of the few times my whole (immediate) family gets to come over and we always end up having a great time! A while back (when I was a kid) I created a picture, and I invented a name for my made-up “celebration” and now this name has stuck!
This “holiday” was really important to me when I was a kid, and as I get older we still reference it and I’m sure even if we don’t celebrate it, we will always remember my Hallo-irthday!
I celebrate many other holidays like these!

Hi Malaika,
I’m obsessed with “Hallo-irthday” now – that is amazing. I had a friend in school with a birthday on Oct 30th, we should have done this for her!
My 3 kids were all born on holidays – Easter, April Fool’s Day (that kid is a joker too so it totally fits his personality), and Earth Day. I’ll let you create special birthday/holiday names for them too if you like 🙂
The word celebration, for me, brings up thoughts of the little moments of joy that bring us together. I think maybe I’ll take my daughter (she’s in high school) out for cheeseburgers tonight to celebrate that it is Friday and the weekend is here!
Have you ever thought of creating a story around Hallo-irthday? It could make a nice children’s book.

Awww!!! Thank you so much. This comment means so much to me ad I appreciate it very much! I was always a very funky kid and when this topic came around, I knew I had to express myself and tell everyone about this special holiday (for me)! I used to love making up names and I think it’ll be fun for your kids as well! Maybe I’ll publish a children’s book one day, but I’ll be sure to mention you for the great idea! Thanks again:)
