BA BOOM!!

The Halifax Explosion

The Halifax Explosion was a massive explosion that took place in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This massive explosion resulted in the largest human-made explosion known to date. This explosion was caused when a ship loaded with explosives bound for the battlefields of the World War 1 collided with another ship. The whole north end of Halifax was destroyed by this explosion.

My group and I (Chloe, Marley, and Nolan) made a much more detailed news report about the topic.

My group and I used two main websites for doing the research for our project. We used CBC and the Canadian Encyclopedia.

We filmed using a green screen, and put a newsroom background using Final Cut. This made our video look very realistic and professional.

We did our filming over a couple days. Even though our final copy looks amazing, we went through lots of editing,  filming, filming, and FILMING. The great thing about this project is that Nolan learned how to say “subsequent”.
