Drop the mic!

In humanities class today we were looking at Joan of Arc, an extremely influential person. She single-handedly as a women in the Middle Ages won several battles In the 100 years war. That got us thinking, who else is influential? We all decided that we would choose one influential person to write a blog post about. The person I’m choosing is Barrack Obama.
There are several reason I am choosing Obama, the first reason is because he is leader. When I say he is a leader I don’t mean it in the way that he is a president. I mean it in the way that he was the first black president ever. I’m sure there were lots of people that told him he couldn’t do it. I’m sure at times he thought he couldn’t do it. But he did anyways, and that’s what makes someone influential. Once he was elected I think it’s fair to say he did a pretty good job.

The next reason I think Obama was influential is because he wasn’t just a president. Some things he did beside being president include playing sports like basketball and golf. He also has a family with a wife and two daughters. He also won a novel peace prize for his efforts. Doing all this you can see that Obama wasn’t a regular person or even president, he was a hero.

The final reason that I think Obama was a very influential person inside of his presidency too.
During his two terms he did many great things. Some of the things he did include ending the war in Iraq by ordering all the forces out of the country. By ending the war he saved many people’s lives so I think that is a great thing. Another great thing he did was expand the protected wilderness area. I think this is a great idea because logging and other forest destroying activities are taking place everywhere and they need to be stopped. One final thing he did inside his presidency that I think is great is passing laws that allow more stem cell research. Recently stem cells have shown to be very promising for veterans and other people who have spinal injuries. Before Obama it was illegal to work with certain kinds of stem cells. Now the legalized stem cell show to be very promising.
Overall I think Obama has had one of the most influential presidencies ever because he has influenced so many people. It’s not only that he influenced many people either, it’s that he influenced them in a good way.
