Hello readers, Hope your all enjoying your Happy Father’s Day!

For our finishing project of the year, we have been working on The Medium is the Message with Ms Willemse! This was a really fun project, I think this is one of the projects I’ve learned the most from.

One thing we were given access to which I found really helpful was the PLP Getting Graphic with Graphic Design guide which touched on 13 graphic design related topics, such as Fonts. In the end I used this, my previous knowledge, and internet resources to make the final ad for my business Kam Meng which is an Restaurant that does Asian Cuisine in Newport Oregon.

We also learned about common advertising techniques, appeals, things real Marketing & Graphic Design professionals think about when creating their work everyday. We showed our understanding for that in a chart where we analyzed some ads of our choice, this was one of the ads I analyzed:

Going into the Exhibition, I unfortunately was not able to attend since I was sick with the stomach flu, as of writing this I’m recovering and getting better. Leading up to the exhibition I had a lot of fun setting it up with my group which was the other people who made ads for Kam Meng.

Out of the 7 of us, 2 of us would be “management,” if you want to put it that way; those people were the DRI (directly responsible individual, so the leader) and the reporter (basically the second in command), and everyone else had jobs like food, entertainment, decor, and costumes. I was the reporter for my group, so I was responsible for helping the DRI and keeping all of our documents up to date, which said what we would have for food or entertainment, for example.

In the end I was sad I was not able to come to the Exhibition, but I’m happy I still contributed to our group! Thanks for reading and wish me luck for my TPoL tomorrow…
