Hello blog readers,
I’m back for another Tpol. A tpol is a transitional presentation of learning. For the presentation I will answer some questions about my work. I have done 3 similar presentations like these in the past. I’m almost done grade 9 though and I’m proud of many things I would like to share. Today I will be answering 4 questions.
The first question that I will be talking about is “what work am I most proud of this year?” Throughout this year I can confidently say that I am proud of many things but my most significant work that I am proud of is the Blue Sky exhibition. For the blue sky exhibition I made a all in one cutting board. My product was difficult to make and I put a lot of time into it. I worked very hard on this exhibition. I was always one step ahead thinking of ways to improve. When the glass broke I did not let that stop me, I would not give up I just tried again. This is why I think I should be proud of this work.
The second question I will be talking about is “what project did I enjoy most?” There have been a lot of fun projects that I have done this year but one that I really enjoyed was the world war 1 comic. I actually enjoyed that whole unit. It was a big unit and the driving question was “how did WWI impact Canada’s identity?” I didn’t think I would enjoy learning about WWI as much as I did but it was truly something that interested me. I gained many skills while working on that project as well. One specific thing I loved about about the project was getting to show our finished comics to grade 6 and 7’s at cove cliff. Overall I worked hard on my comic and the blogpost for that unit so check it out here.
The third question I will be talking about is “what is the most valuable thing I have learned this year?” This year I have learned many valuable things, it’s hard to just pick one to focus on and talk about, but I have been able to develop a love for humanities. This is why I think the most important thing I was able to learn this year was Canadian history. Canadian history is so important to learn. That knowledge will help society know not to make the same mistakes in the future and will give us the background of our country. Also, the activities we do in class help me remember things more than just reading a text book could ever do. Hands on learning helps me learn faster and easier. I’m glad I have been able to learn this way.
The fourth and final question I will be talking about is “what did I learn about myself this year?” I have learned a lot of things about me this year. There are too many to say but one in particular that I noticed was in math. In math class Ive always done very well. I find math fairly easy, doing calculations is super simple to me. Everything everyone learned in math class this year i already knew. My issue was that I’m not good with the math creativity and vocabulary. I found out this is a issue when we did our math card game, since then I have been working on not just doing the calculations but learning the proper vocabulary. That part was difficult but I’ve been able to improve, however the creativity in my math projects still need work. My latest math project was fairly creative and personalized so I’m proud of that and I’m ready for next year so I can keep improving myself on this.
In the end I feel as though I’ve produced good work in all subjects. I still have so much to learn and improve on but I know I have come along way from when I got into plp in grade 8. That’s why I feel like I’m ready for next years work and adventures. This has been my tpol. I hope you learned more about me and my style of work.
