Recently in maker class we have been doing something completely new for our career life education. Using my blue prints we were doing tests to learn more about who we are and career paths.
For the first part of my blue prints, we answered a series of surveys. These surveys were about who I am. There was a surgery about my learning style, personality, interests, knowledge, and motivations. We were assigned to make a keynote presentation about who we are.
My Keynote
The keynote was way better than this because it had lots of animations and transitions that I can’t show. Let’s take a deeper look at the results.
During the keynote I tried to answer the question who am I, but I also answered three other questions. The first question was; how does knowing yourself better affect your career choices and opportunities? When you know what your passions and interests are you can search for a career that best suits you. If it’s something you enjoy you will be much better at doing it. The second question was; How can you develop your skillset for continuous improvement and lifelong learning? You can develop your skillset by working everyday on your interests and passions. That way you will improve everyday leaving you with lifelong knowledge. The third question was; How does developing your self-awareness help you to make life and career choices? When you develop self awareness you are more aware of the options you have for your future. That’s why people who research the different career choices that match there interests are more successful.
The who am I assignment did teach me a bit more about me but mostly just reminded me things I already knew. I also enjoyed making the keynote which was a plus.

Next thing we had to do for my blueprints was our graduation plan. Basically we had to go on my blue prints and write in all of our high school classes we took this year, and plan to take in grade 11 and 12. Here is a photo of my graduation plan.
After I did the graduation plan my blueprints came up with a bunch of crazy jobs it thought I would be interested in. I didn’t like most of them, but maybe if I do more searching I can see why it told me to be a funeral planner. However, the options for universes and courses I should take after high school seemed pretty interesting, and some of the career paths seemed alright.
We also made a numbers spreadsheet. The numbers spreadsheet included the education needed, the pay, outlook, and my match.
Throughout my blue prints, I gained a few things but mostly got a refresher of who I am and who I can be. I think we did this to show us the many many options after high school and different career paths. This helped me narrow my ideas but if you ask me what I want to be when I grow up, I still will have no idea.
