We Shall Overcome. This phrase quickly became the theme for the civil rights activists in the South. With segragation and racism fiercely oppressing people of colour in the Southern states of USA, “We Shall Overcome” brought hope and faith into their hearts. As you may assume, this phrase meant a tremendous amount to all the men and woman participating in the civil rights movement. 

When President Lyndon Johnson said “We Shall Overcome” during one of his speeches, it brought joy and hope to everyone fighting for civil rights. President LBJ quoting the theme of this movement is the topic that I focused on for my Little Big Story. The Little Big Story is my class’ version of CNN’s Great Big Story. Great Big Stories are relatively short videos focusing on topics little known to the public.

In my story, I focused on what I think would have happened if Preident LBJ had not said “We Shall Overcome”.

I went through a large amount of revision in the process of creating this video. I created and got critic on four drafts before my final product was produced. The first draft is completely different from my final product, as you can see here. I feel that my final product has been improved greatly compared to my first draft.
