I have been swimming competitively for 7 and a half years. Over those years I have learned a lot about swimming and I have grown to love it. In fact, I love it so much that not even doing 22 100 meters of freestyle (swimming up and down the pool 88 times with a heart beat of 200) won’t make me quit. There is something about swimming that makes me keep going even if I know that I will be suffering greatly.

swimming has been an amazing place to relieve stress, stay active, learn skills, make friends, and staying focused. When I was younger I was having a very hard time staying on track and getting things done when they need to be. When I started swimming more, I learned a lot about managing my time and setting goals of when I want things to be done by. Swimming has surprisingly helped me a lot even with things that have nothing to do with doing drills and getting good times.

For the next couple of posts, I will be talking about how to keep a positive mindset while training and racing, visualization, nutrition and how swimming has shaped the person I am today. All of these skills can help you outside of the pool. If it is in school, doing chores, hobbies, or other sports I am 100% positive these can impact you in some way.
