This marks the end of projects for PLP until next year for me. Of course I still have tPOL, but I’m not there yet. Spring Exhibition is what the big finish is. During Spring Exhibition we show our work we did, and not something based around a theme like the Winter Exhibition with Avatar. This Exhibition we showcased our advertising project which took us down to the Oregon Coast to learn more about advertising different businesses.
The Room
All the Grade 8’s were in one room all together unlike Winter Exhibition with different rooms for each theme. There wasn’t much division other than the stands that were setup. Our room was half of the gym with a solid wall being the divider for the gym. It was quite open so very loud especially when there were large amounts of people coming by.
Our Stand
Each business group had their own stand with all of the members ads being presented with our journals. We decorated our stand to have a theme of our business Yaquina Head. We put a paper lighthouse behind out stand on the temporary wall dividing the gym in half. I put my flashlight behind the paper to give it a glow making it look like it’s a real lighthouse. We also had cookies for a snack at our station for people who came by.
My Project
You might be wondering right now, “What is your ad?” Or “What is Yaquina Head?”, and to that I say, “My ad is an ad, and Yaquina Head is somewhere named Yaquina Head”, but I’ll explain more. Our big project for advertising is making a print ad that I displayed at the Exhibition. Yaquina Head is a tourist attraction that has a beautiful beach, amazing hiking with incredible views, and a lighthouse that is having it’s 150th birthday.
