Nikan back on the old’ blog! We- the PLP 8s- just completed a silly project about Vikings and European exploration.
Our first assignment was to make a ‘character card’ for a Viking that you created. I had tons of fun with this keystone, because I love using my creativity, and I thought my final product was pretty good.
The final project of this… project… was to write a 200-word story about an explorer. I chose George Vancouver, and I’m glad I did, because he was a very interesting fellow. I picked him for 2 reasons: 1. I live in Vancouver (duh) 2. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE did Christopher Columbus, so I wanted to be different
I enjoyed making my story, but had trouble keeping it under 200. I used online resources to learn about what old’ Georgie did during his days. Afterwards, had to make 5-10 images to tag along with our story, with at least 3 different “image styles”. As per usual, I enjoyed this because I like being creative. Then, we slapped everything in a book, and here it is! Enjoy!
Driving question: What sparked global exploration and what was the impact?
