Yeah, add ‘Oscar winning editor’ to my list of achievements.
The PLP 9s were tasked with
My cast, consisting of 2 people- Claire and Quin, were pleasures to work with. The videographer, Lila, did a great job. Jokes aside, I’m very grateful for having such a successful group. Everybody carried weight, and our products showed- hopefully. Our first remake of “Run” went smoothly, shaky, and everything in between. I knew we were set up for success because some lady came up to us and said “just be natural”. We referenced that lady a lot during filming. We thought we got off to a good start, as we spent like an hour working on this document detailing how each shot is laid out. Of course, however, we did not use it during filing. I think our shots were really similar to the original but the timing was moderately off. Also, the camera was jerry-built (i’m on a roll with these synonyms). As far as editing, my sound effects were flawed. I almost made the video funny, using those goofy sound effects. I also made the footsteps too quiet. I was politely told these things during our critique phase.
In our second video, the same was -almost- true. The sound effects were chosen more carefully, less camera shake, and slightly better timing. However, I made one crucial error. I did not keep my group in the loop during editing. This morning, as I met with my group, I was met with multiple “It was good, but….”.
And with that, here are the videos:
And goodnight.
