On Wednesday, November 1st, I embarked and participated in the annual grade 9 Take your Kid to Work Day. I got to take an exciting adventure to Dip Co. Delights Sandwich and Grocery, a store in which my parents own (4381 Gallant avenue, 604-988-0378, shameless plug).
ย I started the day by going to Kinโs farmers market with my dad to pick up garden salad things. Once I got back to dip co, I got to greet our other employees, Francois- the bald French guy, and Reza – the bald Iranian guy. Since it was November 1st, I did what I was supposed to do, and played Christmas music over the speaker. I spent majority of my day packing dried fruits, which almost made me lose my mind. Trying to pack containers of sticky dried papayas is something everyone should try. I restocked shelves, and dusted things. Fun day.ย
During the 3 hours I was there, I learned about customer service, running the cash register, the difficult of running a business, the regular operations at dip co, and much, much more. Then my dad made me a sandwich for lunch, which is inhaled.
Hereโs an awesome video a I made about life at dip co, and an interview with my mother. take care, Iโve been nikan.ย
