So this November he had “take your kid to work day” to learn more about an actual job and how it can change what we want to do when we grow up. The driving question was “How does experiencing a workday shape our view of career choices?”
How my day went.
My day started with driving to my moms work place and n the way we talked about how my day will go and what my mom does for work. This made me think about how jobs feel so manufactured and is just the same thing every single day. And also what job I can do when I’m older that is more different each day. Then we arrived at the college of physicians and surgeons of BC. We went inside and I said hi to all my moms coworkers and looked around. I worked on my video that I will talk about separately. Later in the day the company had organized a tour of the building and what everyone does. After all that I just watched my mom work and waited to go home.
What did I learn from my moms job?
I learned that work days can look very different than what I thought, I thought days would be more different but what I heard from my mom is that they are really similar. I also learned what my mom does for work and how their are so many different jobs in her office.
TYKTWD video.
So our main project for the day was making a video about answering the driving question. For this we had to make an action plan about all the shots we need and who we were going to interview. Then put it all together in iMovie Here was the video that I made.

We were supposed to include an answer to the driving question, what we learned about the job, and how are day went and what we did. I interviewed my mom and took pictures and videos of the main office floor.
Thank you email.
After the big day we started working on our videos in class and also having to send a thank you email to our parents. In the email we thank them for their time and effort of bringing us along and showing us what they do.
<Here was mine.
Overall.
I think I learned that my mom is a manager at a college where they make sure people in the medical industry are doing their jobs properly, and also approving people for their actual Licence. I think what my mom does is really cool and it was fun to learn all about her job. It did make me revise though how much I don’t what to work and normal job, how I want to be more free and not always be told what to do. Manage myself make my own decisions so I can travel the world and experience everything. I think the answer to the driving question for me is it makes you relies how you want your future to be like and the last thing I want mine to be is controlled. Also how you can see what career fits you and how you are, so that’s my answer to the driving question. Thank you for reading.
