RUN! That was the name of the horror shot video that we had to recreate in our most recent project while also answering the question “how might we learn video skills by recreating a short film?” In this blog post I will talk about what I have learned throughout the project, what I did, and an answer to the driving question.
Launch.
In the beginning of the project we watched a short film called RUN! Here is the original video: here.
At first we were Just told to remake the video in one hour. In this time we had to create a list of the shots that we have to take. The original shot list was very basic had no details or long descriptions it only included how long the shot was and the camera angle.
The next attempt.
Now the next time we tried to make it was a lot better where we had to have exact details on all the different shots and make a story board here was my list of shots. Here. After that we had groups where we had to make everything as exact as possible and similar to the original video. Here was our best attempt for the video: here.
What did I learn?
During this project I learned how to make a story board by every time their is a camera angle change I you would have to make a new box explaining every detail about the scene. We also learned how to make a shot list with the main angle how long the clip is and the expression and emotion of the characters. Also we learned how to record our own sound effects that match the video by our self. Finally we learned about how to make, record and edit, a short film.
Overall.
This was a decently fun project and I learned a lot more about film making and recording video. Thank you for reading my blog.
