This is a mini blog post about something we recently did in Maker.
We recently completed a small skill-sprint sort of activity. We grouped up into teams of 3 and made little scale roller coasters that could appeal to a real audience. The coasters consisted of paper towel tubes cut in half and toothpicks. This might have correlated to our science project since it was about kinetic and potential energy.
I partnered with jupiter and Blondie (go look at their blogs). I think our coaster wasnt very good looking and we sort of embraced that with our DIY theme. It worked and it was scientifically fine, but it lacked a sort of flare other groups had. To improve, i think we could have taken it a bit slower and thought through our purchase decisions more.
