What is DNA?
Well DNA or deoxyribonucleic acid is made up of molecules called nucleotides. Each nucleotide contains a phosphate group, a sugar group and a nitrogen base. It is also the unit of study we just finished covering in science class.
For the past few weeks we’ve been studying DNA and genetics in our science class. We’ve covered everything from phenotypes ( from the Greek “phainein” meaning “ to show” and “typos” meaning “type”) and genotypes ( the part of the DNA sequence of a cell) to how the womb lining affects a baby’s finger prints.
For our final project of the unit we needed to create a project that explains DNA and genetics using the driving question “if a set of identical twins married a set of identical twins would their kids be identical?”
For this project I worked with Will Buckingham. We have our podcast below for your listening pleasure.
If I were to make this podcast again I would focus the script a bit more around the driving question (above) as well as refine the audio. I would also make the script sound more like an actual podcast with interviews and sound effects rather then sound like and audio file for science class.
All in all though, I think Will and I did a pretty good job on our podcast. I hope you thought so too.
