Hi welcome to my blog, in this post I’ll be telling you a bit more about one of my favourite eras of fashion, the 60’s.
The one thing that I love about fashion is that it is always changing, from even the earliest times in ancient Egypt to the elaborate outfits of the renaissance period to the current day fashion, clothes will never stay the same.
Of all the different eras of fashion one of my favourites is the 1960’s. In the sixties the clothing was colourful, fun, bubbly, different and very cool all around. The style was usually clean, simple, and modern compared to past eras, especially because of the short mini skirts which were very different to past styles. Some of the clothes used quite interesting patterns, and sometimes unusual textures and fabrics, including shiny PVC plastic based coats and shoes. Jewelry was often bulky and shiny and shaped unusually because they were able to mould the plastic into interesting shapes.
Not all clothes were like that though, so as an example I’ll be showing you a photo of my granny from the 60’s in Ireland. As you can see my granny is wearing a really pretty outfit. I got permission from my mom to use this photo of my granny. I then took a photo of the old photo and included it here.
My granny is wearing a gorgous outfit. I think she looks very elegant and simple and I love her shoes with the dress. I also love the gloves that she’s wearing, it makes her look very sophisticated. Her dress is lace and even though its not like the classic “60’s style” that I was describing above, it proves my point further on how there is no specific style and fashion is always changing even in each era.
Thanks for reading my blog, I hope you learned a little bit more about fashion!
