So as we approach spring break everything feels really good, almost too good. Oh right, SLC’s. Time to reflect on what I’ve done so far this year. If you don’t know what an SLC is I’ve written two previous blogs on them, one from the Spring, and one from the Summer 2016.

Work I’m Most Proud of:

For the work I’m most proud of I chose my Seattle video. Although we never finished the project I thought the most recent draft that my group and I did was very strong. There was one scene where the quality of video went down and we were going to change that for the next draft however we stopped working on it. Here is the blog post for that unit.

Work That Shows My Learning:

The piece of work that I think shows my learning very well is the essay we did right after Florida. My writing before this year still wasn’t very good. However I think all the lessons Mr. Featherstone has done has helped my writing out a lot. I definetly think that I wrote this essay very well which isn’t something I do very often. I also think that both my points and evidence were very good. Here is the blog post for the unit.

Work That Shows a Growth Mindset:

For this topic I chose DI. I was in the Project Outreach group who didn’t really do their challenge. We thought that we just had to design a solution rather than complete our solution. However as a group we made the presentation strong and funny. Performing in a skit would normally have been well outside my comfort zone, but in this case I took on the part of Timmy the Trout and gave a good performance. We also did very well on our instant challenge where the only points we dropped were on teamwork. I really don’t know how we lost those points as I felt our teamwork was really strong. Here is the blog post for this project.

Goals:

We had to come up with three goals for the rest of the year and possibly longer. My first goal is to stay on top of homework and hand things in on time during my busy schedule called the baseball season. Another which is quite similar is to maintain a high mark across all subjects. My final goal is to have a challenging, but fun and interactive Blue Sky Project for the last term.
