So recently in science we finished our first full unit. This unit was on genetics and DNA.

We started the unit off by making a mind map on how much we already knew or could remember about the topic. This wa to show our growth at the end of the unit when we would do it again.

A bit later on we started learning about punnet squares and dominant and recessive genes. The main project of the unit was to answer the question “If two sets of identical twins got married to each other and each marriage had a baby would the 2 kids be identical?” We had to answer this in a podcast with a partner. I worked with Alex. We stared working on a script quickly because we knew that we were able to make good podcasts together because we had done so before. Due to research and learning through the unit we knew that unless it really luckily happened, the answer would be no they wouldn’t be identical.

We then recorded at my house because I have a high quality mic at my house and found that recording a podcast is way quicker than recording a video. It’s definitely something Alex and I forgot about because we were leaving ourselves with a lot more time for recording then we really needed. After we got a take we both thought was good enough I started work on editing it while Alex started creating music in GarageBand.

Overall this was a pretty good unit, and unit end project. I definitely feel like I know a lot more about genetics then I ever did.
