For the summer term in school we are doing another Blue Sky Project. This time we don’t have a specific theme (like Star Wars in the winter). Instead our projects have to solve a problem.

My problem is that umpires aren’t 100% correct when making a call on the pitch. So my goal is to create a machine that will call balls and strikes.

When we come up with an idea we have to write pitch form. This is so the teachers can make sure that we actually learn something from doing the project. My pitch form was submitted last week and I have now been approved. I have already been doing some background research and testing out different ideas for my strike zone.
