How I have developed as a learner on this Learning Advance?
Introduction:
Loon Lake was a trip that was very new and challenging for me however, was full of surprises and really helped me become closer to my full potential as a learner. The Loon Lake trip was basically a 4 days of learning done on a camp site. The learning done can be shown with the DI sweatshop or even the laser tag. Additionally, even though we were busy most of the day, the teachers still let us reflect on any event that was meaningful for us through the day. Overall, this advanced helped me grow in was I through weren’t possible.
Day 1:
At first when I arrived at Loon Lake I was terrified for what was to come. However, these fears leased when I went on the walk and took moments to look all around me. Moreover, the advisory group that I was assigned were full of people I didn’t know and helped me build up my communications skills. Additionally, at the end of the day I got play some fun games with friends and had a great time overall. Even though I didn’t expect to have so much fun at Loon Lake while still learning, it was gladly welcomed.
Day 2:
The second day of Loon Lake I learned so much. This was mostly from arbutus where we talked about our 7 habits. In this I learned how to become a better more thoughtful learner with the help of the personal. Additionally, I participated in forest shelter building which helped me improve my communication skills. Moreover, another activity that helped my communication skills was DI since I had to make a great deal of compromises during this time> Additionally, I did a great deal of writing for the script at the time which helped me with my creativity skills. Overall, the second day helped me get used to my new way of life.
Day 3:
The third of the advance was my personal favourite since I think I had the most fun learning on this day. In this day I think I also really improved my communication skills. This was from the activities done at the camp, these activities include laser tag. This game taught me quick thinking and problem solving skills since we often found ourselves in tricky situations. Overall, day three wasn’t my favourite day however, wasn’t the worst day I experienced.
Day 4:
Day four was my last and final day of the Loon Lake advance. Even though I very much enjoyed the Loon Lake trip, I was still extremely exhausted by the end of it. The last of the advance even though I didn’t learn much, I think I still had a great time. I think the last day taught me how to be more responsible due to me having to pack all of my stuff and be extra careful to make sure my devices wouldn’t run out of battery. I cannot wait for our next trip for PLP and what we might learn.
Conclusion:
The learning advance book even though not always fun to fill out helped me reflect on the events I experienced. I don’t believe that this book ended up the best it could of since I was very sloppy with my words and art during the start of the book. This is due to me thinking it was unimportant and I did not have to reflects on the events I just experienced. However, I believe did an excelled job later in the book digging deep on how I felt about what I experienced at Loon Lake. Overall, I hope on the next trip we are given time to reflect. I have learned so many different skills on this trip that I hope I can only grow as my time in PLP grows
