The First Two days

On the Oregon trip, we did lots of memorable, fun and impactful things. First, we went to an interesting store that was a bit like Bass Pro Shops but American, called Cabella’s.  We spend about an hour here, exploring the store and viewing the unique taxidermy and animal scenes they had on display. After that, we went to a place called Clark’s for lunch, which was the restaurant that I did my interview on. It was interesting to eat in the restaurant prior to creating an ad for it, because it gave me a more insight into what the interior of the restaurant looked like, and further insight into what an ad for the restaurant could look like. This is what Clark’s Restaurant looked like. It is a small rustic and very old-over 100 years restaurant in the tiny town of Cosmopolis, Oregon.

This restaurant was among various other restaurants and stores specific and unique to Oregon that we visited along our trip. After lunch, we visited one of the more memorable stops for me, Astoria Coulomb. It was a large tower in the town of Astoria, surrounded by a stunning view of rolling grass hills, forest, and the coastal areas and bridges of Oregon. On the Colomb was a freeze, which was an art piece that went around the tower from top to bottom and depicted the founding of Astoria. After a pizza dinner, we figured out our sleeping situation at our camp we stayed at. Below is the Astoria coloumb.

We stayed in these cabins at this camp for two nights, and during the next day we went to an awesome place called fort stevens, which was a military fort built into the hillside with anti marine artillery guns that were massive. We did something called a quest here, which we did at a couple other locations as well, and it was basically a series of riddles and information enabling us to learn more about our location, and eventually finding a concealed prize box, with a stamp inside to prove we’d finished the quest. I found these quest super fun and interesting to do, and they were a good addition to our Oregon trip.

Three Days in Yurts

Before we left Fort Stevens, we got to see people doing war re-enactments with real supplies and weapons as props. It was interesting to talk with them, and I learned a lot about different war history, and how certain supplies and weapons were used. After that, we went zip lining at a place called High life adventures, which was quite awesome, and we even got to go on a line that got you to get wet! Over the next couple of days, we went various locations centred around marine biology and the history of Oregon and Washington, like the Colombia river maritime museum, where we learned lots about the explorer and indigenous history of Washington, and about shipwrecks and crossing the Colombia river bar, a famous obstacle for many ships. After two nights, our sleeping situation quickly changed as we moved to sleep in yurts  at a campground, where we had some fun at the park there, and had some enjoyable breakfasts

We also went to the Tillamook cheese factory, and learned about how the most popular brand of cheese in northern USA is made and manufactured. We also went to an amazing and truly visually stunning lighthouse and area called Yequina Head, which came with beautiful grassy hills and a massive tide pool ecosystem with seals and various other kinds of marine life to greet us. We did another quest here, where we hiked up one of the hills, and learned about the history of the geology of the area. Among all this we went to many beautiful beaches, and one in particular, Cannon beach, which had a stunning view of a rock face.  Below is tide pools and hill views from Yaquina head, and the stunning rock face of Cannon beach.

The Final Day

We also went to a couple buffets, and some unique and interesting restaurants, like pig and pancake, a breakfast/brunch restaurant that we ate at. On the last night, we stayed at a hotel, and spent the day at two great locations: a wolf haven, where we got to see tons of wolves, and an indoor amusement park, which were both great. At wolf haven, we learned about how to identify animals by their different skull and paw shapes and sizes. These are some of the wolves we saw there.

This concludes our Oregon Trip! I found it a privelidge to go on a trip that was so interesting and fulfilling in the sense of learning, adventure and fun!
