Centre for Digital Media is offering a two week intensive digital media summer camp for teens from July 10 – 21, 2017. The Masters of Digital Media (TMDM) Program strives to engage students in project-based learning, encourage team-based collaboration, highlight education & career opportunities in the thriving digital media industry, and teach rapid iteration, prototyping and design essentials. TMDM is for students entering grades 9-12 with artistic or technical talent. Tuition includes lunches and field trip. Taught by current faculty and grads in the Masters of Digital Media Program.

Program runs July 10-21, weekdays from 9:00am – 5:00pm.

Race Force @ WestVanRun

WestVanRun is an annual run that takes place in West Vancouver on the weekend of March 5. This event benefits Special Olympics and we are glad to have WestVanRun on board this year as a partner of Race Force. The Race Force volunteer team will have a huge presence during the 10km event which is happening on Sunday, March 5th.

Here are the shift details:
WHEN: Sunday, March 5th: 7:00AM – 11:00AM (between 25 to 40 volunteers needed!

WHERE: West Vancouver Community Centre, 2121 Marine Dr, West Vancouver, BC V7V 4Y2

VOLUNTEER HOURS: By participating in this event, you can earn 3 to 4 hours of volunteering hours. Volunteer reference letters are sent within 1 week after the event date.

Vancouver Aquarium (Spring break Wex opportunities)

Youth Train in Trades Carpentry (formerly ACE-IT) Information Night!

 

This program provides training for Grade 11 and 12 students interested in a career in carpentry and related trades. Based at West Vancouver Secondary, students receive training every second day, while attending their own secondary school for core academic subjects. This program is open to students across the North Shore, regardless of their home school.

This intensive program allows students to receive technical training typically done at a post-secondary institution while working toward high school graduation. Each student accepted into the program is registered as a trainee with the Industry Training Authority (ITA).
