For the past few weeks in our class we have been studying myths. So we were assigned into small groups and were given a project where we hand to create our own civilization myth.
My group had trouble at first trying to agree and come up with a civilization. First, our civilization was about grandmothers taking over the world and the last kids had to make a civilization but that idea was trashed. After a while of disagreement we came up with a civilization called the Yurekians.
Our civilization was created after one of the founders, Isosceles, dropped his phone into a hole in the ground in the City of New York and had to go find it with his girl friend Yureka. When looking for the phone they got lost and couldn’t find a way out. Of course, it went on the news and everybody went looking for them but got lost too. Just when they thought things would not get any worse they got trapped underground because of a major earthquake that struck. Slowly but surely they went mentally insane and formed an underground civilization now known as the Yurekians.
At first, our story was a little crazy and very confusing because we made every little detail count. However that didn’t turn out well as when we got to making a story board we realized all the parts of the story line were just as crazy as the climax. So we took a lot out but we took out too much so the highest peak in our story was eating roots. This civilization story, after many changes, came together and told a story of how it was created and how Yureka and Isosceles came to survive underground
