Becoming a PLP Learner
How do I react to challenges and take in information? These are things I found out during this project.
Introduction
In this fairly short project, we learn the fundamentals of Keynote, and how they can help us elevate a product. We learnt how to use these tools using a “workbook” with steps on how to use the tool, then you try and use the tool based on the instructions.
What is the Driving Question? 🏎️
Backing up a bit, the driving question we were answering was “Who am I as a PLP learner?” We were going to figure this out by making our own keynote to showcase what we learnt, I learnt that I am a persevering person, and that if I fiddle around with something enough, it will eventually work. Another thing I learnt was that, I make a lot of mistakes! During the process of finalizing our keynote, I made a wrong turn almost every time. But eventually, i pushed through and had achieved something I was happy with.
What i am proud of
My favourite thing I created in the keynote was the title screen, because it is simple, yet informative, and it was just what I was looking for. I am proud of the simplistic design of the lamp! Which I made by putting 2 shapes from the shape menu together; the light bulb, and the lamp arm.
What I did well on/what I didn’t do well on
I think I did well on the design of the first 3 slides, but the user manual slides were a bit sloppy and plain. I also believe that my me-emoji really reflects me as a person, showing key parts of who i am as a person, it was also what I had the most fun doing. After all, when you have fun doing something you often preform best. However, like I said earlier, I do make a bunch of mistakes (which is great! Because it’s how you learn, it is a FAIL!—first attempt in learning.) I did not do well on the user manual slides, I felt they were plain and could’ve had a bit more effort into them.
User Manual
For this “user manual” we had to describe ourselves from a third person perspective, and as if we are devices. Through this user manual, I learnt more about myself by thinking; what do I really enjoy? This helped me understand who I was, not just as a PLP learner but as a person.
Conclusion and Reflection
I learnt who I was as a PLP learner, how I react to tough decisions and trouble shoot for problems. I also learnt that you don’t always get the right result on the first try, and failing is a part of learning. I could’ve done better on the user manual slides, as they are plain and quite boring to listen to. I think I still did well on this project, but some aspects of it could have been improved.
Hi this is Robin!
I didn’t draw your name out of the jar but I wanted to take a look at your post after you commented on mine! The theme was very simple and neutral which was really nice! I like how you bolded the titles and added some pictures! Some feedback for you is that there are some capitalization errors like not capitalizing the I and capitalizing some letter that don’t need to be. Overall I liked your post a lot! It was interesting and made me want to read more!
Great post!

Thank you very much!
