Welcome to my second to last blog post. Unfortunately, I’m leaving PLP so this and my tpol blog post will be the last you hear from me unless I decide to come back in the next three years. This program has been a fantastic thing for me and I’m really sad I’m leaving but I’m also really excited to do more dance but, onto what this post is actually about. The spring exhibition and my last project!
Welcome to another humanities blog post. This project is about what nationalism is, we talked about Canadian nationalism and we also talked a lot about confederation. The end goal of this project was to create a board game about nationalism. There was 3 keystones in this project but, before we started those keystones we thought of a symbol that we thought represented Canada here’s mine!
Wow it’s been a long time since I’ve written one of these. It’s kind of weird because I only have one PLP class this semester contrary to last semester where I had 3. This project has been long but, it’s been really fun. We started this project on February 2nd and now we’re finishing on March 10th.
Unlike most of my other recent blog posts for this semester this will not be my final humanities blog post because, humanities is a mix of socials and English so it goes for all the year. The final product for this project was a slam poem about the Industrial Revolution (weird, I know but it worked out pretty well).
Welcome back to the blog. This time were talking about the humanities project we finished right before winter break. If you remember the blog post I did a couple weeks ago. That was part of the project. If you need a refresher click here to read the post!
Dear diary we arrived in this new place called France it’s quite lovely my family doesn’t have much but, we’re getting by. I’ve made a few friends with the children my age. We live on a farm, it’s hard work but, I really do quite enjoy it.
And… We’re back! This is the second post this year and let me tell you, it’s gonna be a fun one. Why? You ask well, dear reader this post is about the project called the power of geography and you know… Our trip to Alberta! It was so fun and I can’t wait to tell you more about it.
This isn’t a normal blog post because it’s not about a project it’s about the 2022 spring exhibition so this’ll probably be a little bit shorter of a blog post then my normal ones. You might be wondering what an exhibition is well, it’s a way for us learners to show our growth and all our hard work to family and friends. All the exhibitions have a theme and this years theme was basically about what PLP is. If you want to know know what we did for the winter exhibition check this post out.
This is officially the last humanities project for grade 8. This year has gone by way too fast, we’ve just started preparations for the spring exhibition and I don’t think it’s fully dawned on me that I’m almost in grade 9. That’s crazy! But, onto the project this project is called new beginnings and it was about the development of New France. The driving question was ‘what did the establishment of New France mean for all the people involved?’
It’s been way too long since I’ve written a blog post. This project is our second to last project for this year (noooooooooo!) and it’s about the causes and consequences of European exploration. If you didn’t know I greatly enjoy reading and my favourite genre is fantasy and by association pirates. You might be wondering what does pirates have to do with this project Sydney? well, this project is called argh, Matey so even though the driving question was: What were the causes and consequences of global exploration? Pirates were a part of that (and Mr Hughes really likes pirates).
