Exhibition Blog Post:
Winter Exhibition 2022! This is my blog post about my first exhibition. Overall, I think the exhibition was great. It came with it’s ups and downs. At the start I think that I was a lot more nervous. As I said, it was my first exhibition so I think I was terrified. It felt weird to be talking to random people and I had no idea what to say. I think towards the end I got into the mood of it. I memorized the things I would say and I started to enjoy it.
My group was lucky enough that we worked really well with each other. I know that some other groups had trouble with that but the grade 9’s in my group were really great and they really knew what to do. The grade 9’s covered all the walls with black cloth so it was really dark and we turned off the lights. We also decorated the room with lights so you could see what was going on. I think it looked really nice. It also made it look festive which I think set us apart from the other rooms.
There were a couple things about the exhibition that could’ve gone better. First of all, I think it felt a little long. Even though I overall enjoyed it, I did get tired after a while. The thing that did make it better was when I got to go on my break. The break was fun because I got to go see what other people were doing and get away from my station for a couple of minutes. I think if we wanted to make it better we could have more breaks. I think that after my break I came back really energized and enthusiastic. The breaks didn’t even have to be as long, just more of them. Another thing that could’ve gone better was the grade 10’s. The grade 10’s were really helpful but whereas we got to meet with the grade 9’s beforehand, I didn’t even know who was in the group until exhibition time. The last thing that could’ve been done better is the rooms. It was definitely hard for some groups. Whereas my groups did well because we had a small room, I know other groups had a huge room and ran out of supplies. Overall the exhibition was great. Even though there was a few bumps along the way I look forward to trying it again and making it go even better.
Pandora’s box blog post:
Obviously we needed something to present at the blog post. This was our Pandora’s box. Each of us chose a theme that we took from the movie and came up with a way to show this theme somehow. I chose the theme of racism. I chose to make a scene from the movie and incorporate Earth elements to make it relatable. I also did this because the elements of racism in the movie are really relatable to society and life as it exists today. I think mine turned out really well. I’m definitely proud of it. The unique thing about mine is that I actually didn’t do any of my box in class. I was sick the entire week we did it. I managed to catch up at home but there was some supplies that I needed, like yellow paint, that I didn’t have at home. I decided to paper it instead, but I think paint would have looked better. The main problem was that when I was away so I couldn’t get any peer critique for my box. So when I did finally get back, Ms. Madsen gave me critique. The problem is that it was a day before the exhibition. I did mange to get it done though, so I guess I’m also proud of being able to actually finish it. The one thing that I could’ve done better is thinking of other solutions so I could not rush at the very end. Like I could’ve texted someone a picture and gotten critique from that. Anyway, I’m sure that I did my best from these projects. Thanks again for visiting my blog!
This is a picture of my box that I made for the exhibition. Unfortunately I couldn’t get a clear picture on the exhibition night, but I hope that this picture can give you an idea of what it was like.
