Welcome to Me, Myself, and I! This is a very special post. In a couple of days we’ll be doing presentations to our parents and teachers about what’s happened this year and a reflection of how it’s gone. This is a stressful, but exciting part of PLP.
All About Me
-All Abut Me was a blog post we made about, you guessed it, us
-We wrote about our likes our dislikes, our families and friends
-We also had to make an animation as a picture of our lives
-My animation didn’t go well because it wouldn’t insert onto my blog
-I had to ask my friends, my parents but we couldn’t figure it out
-I had to go into morning tutorial to get it figured out
I think this shows may problem-solving skills because I really worked hard to do this and find a solution.
This was the animation that I worked so hard on
The Outsiders
-I don’t have a blog post about this because our blogs weren’t set up at this time
-We read the book The Outsiders
-For the end project we had to create a new and original book cover
-We chose the scene that the Soc had just been killed
-I played the dead Soc and others in my group played Soc’s or Johnny or Ponyboy
-Once we had that picture, we created a background and inserted it onto the picture
One thing that I could’ve improved on is that our group finished our project a little bit late. I think it showed my habits because if I had worked with my group and we all were a little more on top of it, we wouldn’t have had to rush at the end.
This is the cover my group made
I thought my learning is best represented by the questions that follow. These include what I think I’ve struggled with most this year, what I’ve succeeded at, and what I’m the most proud of.
What Project did you struggle with? Why? I feel like the project I struggled most with was the winter exhibition. There are a lot of reasons for this. Winter exhibition is such a big thing, and it being my first one I think made me a lot more nervous. There was also a lot of work to be done, with doing my own project, preparing what I would say, and doing my own project. Another hard thing is that I was away the week we made our projects I was away, so I had to do everything on my own and find supplies myself. I will say that overall, I think I did a good job on this project.
What did/do you find frustrating about PLP? The thing I struggled with most is the big ideas of PLP. PLP is all about driving questions, we have one for every project. It’s a big change from my other classes where we were given a project, told more or less exactly what we had to do, then we did it. In PLP there’s a lot more options and it’s more up to us how we interpret the project and how we execute it. I know that I’ve gotten a lot better, but I’m still trying to figure this part of PLP out.
What was the most interesting thing you learned so far? What was the most boring? What was the difference between the two? I think I’ve learned a lot of interesting things this year. I think the best thing was all of the skills I learned. Now I can create an animation, I know how to properly site a photo, and I know how to present my work to the public. For example, if someone went into PLP and decided it wasn’t for them the next year, they still would have learned a lot and be able to use those skills everyday.
I also thought it would be good to add a part of my learning plan. Our learning plans were something we created in September. We included our goals, our strengths, weaknesses, and habits. The one thing that I would have changed is that I set my maker goal for accomplished. I at least hope that I have been getting extending this year. So I would like to change it to extending.
