Our latest project in science was Mind Over Matter⚛️. I’d like to take you though the whole project, but to be honest I don’t remember anything from the first keystone. Our second keystone was called Gummy Bear Diffusion. In this project we put gummy bears in different things and saw which ones diffused first. Some groups chose doing water and Pepsi or things like that. I did fizzy water, ice, hot water, and cold water. This was a great keystone, and not just because we got to eat the extra gummy bears. Once we put the gummy bears in, there was nothing to do but wait. None of gummy bears ended up diffusing which was a shame because my hypothesis was way off. Instead the gummy bears ended up expanding like 4 times their size. After all the observation were done, my partner and I decided to have fun. So we completely smashed the gummy bears. It created a big mess, but it was really fun.
Our third keystone was Video Game Pitch. The idea was to code a video game that had to do with what we learned about. I may have overestimated myself because my pitch looks nothing like the final game. I didn’t know how hard it would be to code. My game ended up being a lot simpler than I first intended, but it works and that’s all I can really ask. In this project I learned that CODING IS HARD. I ended figuring it out at the end, but I wasted a fair amount of time trying to get it work. If I ever make a video game again I’ll aim for a game I can actually make. I wish I could’ve added my video game but unfortunately I did it on a different website and it won’t embed on my blog.
These are some pictures from gummy bear diffusion…
And of course the smashed gummy bears…
