On February 3rd most of our class left for the biggest trip we have been on so far in school. We went all the way to the bottom of America to Florida. We were there for nearly two weeks and everyday we were there it was filled with exciting and fun things to do. The first day was flying. For hours and hours. We finally arrived in Florida and spent ages trying to get the rental cars that we would have for the rest of the trip. From the rental car place we went straight to dinner at a place called Cracker Barrel. This place was filled with American things like mounted animal heads and guns and the food was also extremely American. There were steaks, fried chicken, mac n’ cheese and even deep fried steaks. After this dinner we drove about 30 min to our hotel, which was a residence inn right next to sea world, which unfortunately we did not get to go to. That was the first day of our trip and already it had made us very tired.
The day after travelling was the first day we went Disney world, and we were there for about twelve hours, crazy right. We were there for rope drop in the magic kingdom andwent straight to the most popular ride which is 7 dwarves mine train. We had to wait about ten minutes there which is awesome because it is normally 2 hours. From there we ran all the way to splash mountain and big thunder mountain and went on those really quickly. The rest of the day we had lunch, went on more popular rides and saw the firework show late at night.
The day after the Magic Kingdom we were up bright and early to go straight to universal studios. Universal is probably most popular for the world famous Harry Potter franchise but they have a lot of other popular movie and TV shows. Some of these include the Simpsons and Transformers. At Universal studios the rides and attractions are a lot more exciting and daring the the rides at Disney. Things like this attract more thrill seekers and ride lovers. While we were there we spent a lot of time looking at the Harry Potter attractions stores. The simulators of the movies were extremely realistic and made you feel like you were in the Harry Potter world. We went on rides all day like the Hulk, Dragon challenge and the Spider-Man simulator. A the end of the day there was a large parade show asking some awesome floats and all the famous universal characters. That ended up that day and by now the whole class was already completely dead. But there was still a whole week left.
The third day we were there we had a little bit of rest in the morning going to a very nice and quite place called Merritt island. This is a very large nature reserve that is most famous for alligators. A lot of it is flat marsh land a perfect habitat for the gators. While we were there we went on a small nature walk, had lunch where we got to actually eat gator and went on an awesome boat ride where we saw loads of gators. We some come other animals like turtles ad lizards big the gators were definable the highlight if that little outing. But what was pretty surprising to me was how good gator was to eat I loved it and if you have the chance you should definable try some. What we also did that day was go to NASA and train to be an astronaut. I know pretty awesome right, the whole afternoon we learned about different materials that are used on space ships, the vacuum of space and probably most excitingly landing a space shuttle in a very realistic simulator. Our group got to go into mission control and direct the pilots of what they were doing how the weather is and all sorts of things like that. We even went through a couple of physical training that the astronauts have to go thorough, like the space ball and the zero gravity wall which were all pretty awesome.
The next day we went to the much larger space visitor centre and Ron Jon surf school. In the morning we were up early as usual and had quick breakfast where we then went straight to the Ron Jon surf school where, you guessed it, they taught the class how to surf. Everyone had a lot of fun doing this and the class was out there for a pretty long time. After that we had lunch at a place Steak n’ Shake, which I have to say had some pretty good food. We then went straight to the large Kennedy space centre. This is where they launch and build all the rockets and where they design them all. They had some massive buildings where they build the rocket including the biggest single story building in the world by volume. We had lunch with astronaut Winston Scott and went in a simulator that made it feel like we were on the space shuttle while it was taking off. Finally there was a massive gift shop with lots of of very cool NASA clothing. That was the end of those days and we were having a lot of fun.
The next couple days we were in EPCOT, Animal Kingdom and HollyWood Studios which are all Disney parks. We went on all the major attractions like Tower of Terror, Everest and Test Track. We spent a lot of time at these parks and had fun while we were there. Hollywood studios has all the attractions based off of movies that Disney has created or has bought out. Some of these are rides like Star Tours and a stunt show about Indiana Jones. EPCOT is Walt Disney’s idea of the future and includes rides such as Space Mountain and the world showcase. Finally animal kingdom has probably one of the most popular rides called Everest and a very cool attraction where you go on an African safari with real animals.
And that was the end of our trip. We were there for a little under two weeks and man was it a lot of fun. The class had lots of fun and even learned a little while we were there. It was the biggest and best school field trip yet and o can’t wait to continue the year.
