A couple months ago we had the regional tournament of Destination Imagination. I did a previous Blogpost on this which you can find here. But just recently we had the provincial tournament. This was basically the same thing except with more teams that had improved form last time. There was a lot to get done and we had to get to work right away. This was the last part of Destination Imagination for us this year and everyone did very well in the competitions. It was lots of fun and Seycove had an exceptional year.
Every group had some revising to do and that was the first thing we had to do. For my group our main focus was editing the script and the gadget. For our script we had to edit out one of our characters as they were not able to be here. We also had to simplify the script as last time some of the DI coordinators found it kind of confusing. That was the first thing we tackled as a group. Once we were done with that we decided to work on our gadget. We knew we wanted it to be to be something that would knock one of our characters out and we brainstormed new ways to try and make that happen. Then we had the idea of a light on a necklace or a bracelet. Luckily our teachers had some cool electronics like this. We rigged everything to a bracelet I got from Disney World and it worked without a problem. That was everything we fixed with our project and we were ready for the tournament.

The tournament itself was very different from the regional tournament. There were a lot more teams and people at the tournament. There were more tamas in each category and that made for a much tougher competition than what we had before. We had to put in our very best performances to win in our groups. I was lucky that my group’s challenge was a lot later in the day and we had more time to practice. We rehearsed everything a couple of times and than we were ready for the performance. My group came 1st in both our main challenge and our instant challenge and we were very happy with that. It showed all the work and time we put into this project and we were very happy and proud of what he had accomplished.
