Just recently on maker time as part of our health and career unit we have finished our things I carry project. In this we had to use a tool that we have never used before called keynote. This is an app that is designed by Apple and comes ready to go on your iPad when you get it. This app is all about you creating an amazing presentation for whatever topic you are presenting. For our topic we had to make a short presentation on the things we carry with us on a daily basis. These things could be physical or mental but they all had be something we carried with us.
For the first time our class used keynote for a presentation. None of us had really used it before so we had to learn it as a new skill for this project. It took a while at first for us to learn it, but once we got the hang of it, it became fairly easy to use. We learned how to do animations, add text, add photos, how to do transitions and of course the all important magic move. With the things I carry I had to think a little bit first with what I was going to put in it. I thought about the physical things I carry first because that was the easiest part but the mental bit was more challenging. I had to think about the mental things I used on a daily basis and then put them into words. Then I had to present it to the class. I was nervous at first like I am with any presentation but after a minute I fell into the groove and it came naturally when I was speaking. I loved learning about keynote and how to use it and I will definitely try to use it next year as a strong presentation tool.
